The LPA Process, Step by Step

From your first decision to a registered LPA — here's exactly what to expect.

01

Decide who your attorneys will be

Choose one or more people you trust to act on your behalf. They can be a spouse, family member, or close friend. You can also appoint a replacement attorney in case your first choice is unable to act.

02

Complete our guided form

Fill in your details, your attorneys' details, and your preferences using our clear online form. It takes around 20 - 30 minutes and we guide you through every question.

03

We draft your LPA documents

Our team reviews your information and prepares your LPA documents accurately. We check everything carefully so your documents meet the Office of the Public Guardian's requirements. Again for a small fee of £49.95 we can include a certified solicitor sign off.

04

You review and sign

We send you the completed documents with clear, step-by-step signing instructions. Each person involved — you, your attorneys, and your certificate provider — signs in the correct order.

05

Registration with the OPG

Once signed, the LPA must be registered with the Office of the Public Guardian before it can be used. We guide you through the registration process. Current registration times are typically 20 weeks.
